Breaking News from Man of La Mancha

Man of La Mancha
The Little Theatre of Crittenden County will present “Man of La Mancha” August 14, 15, 16 at the West Memphis Civic Auditorium. Man of La Mancha is about dreams. It is about a quest. It is a story of imagination and of the art of story telling. Thrown into prison for crimes against the church Don Miguele is forced to fight against his fellow prisoners to save his life, his manservant, and his prized possession. He begins to tell them the adventures of Don Quixote a dauntless knight who travels the world to right all wrongs. To tell his story he quickly involves the other prisoners and they are caught up in the adventure. At last they are won over and he is safe, but it is too late. The guards have returned to take him before the Inquisition. As Don Miguel and his manservant bravely leave the cell a prisoner says, “Plead as well there as you did here and you may not die.” As the prisoners watch him go they too begin to reach for the unreachable star.
The cast for this production include: Barry Bates as Sancho; Kelsey Bates as Aldonza; Don Christian as Don Quixote, Blake Owen (innkeeper), David Peeples (barber), Arthur Rust (captain), Jessica Smith (Antonia), Nathan Smith (Dr. Carrasco), Josh Stark (Padre Perez), DJ Williams (housekeeper); Ben Christian, James Cosgrove, Trey Smith, Rhy Williams (muleteers); Lisa Bell, Holly Hearn, Aaren Mitchell, Liz Rust (horses, guards, dancers)
